Last weekend, NBA went viral. Stephen Curry led the Warriors in absence of Kevin Durant while Lonzo Ball recorded his second triple-double. An NBA champion is to appear in a movie… READ MORE:
Lonzo Ball gets a lot of criticism, but he fired back at his critics Sunday night with his second career triple-double. The rookie point guard finished with 11 points, 11 assists, and 16 rebounds, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 127-109 win over the Denver Nuggets.
In addition to his triple-double, he also had two blocks and finished plus-29 on the court. It was a complete effort to lead the Lakers to a relatively easy victory against a quality opponent. The question is what’s coming next. The Lakers have a day off before hosting the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.
After Stephen Curry fouled out, the Golden State Warriors held on to beat the Brooklyn Nets 118-111 on Sunday night at New York. Curry had totaled season highs with 39 points and 11 rebounds and 7 assists before fouling out.
The defending NBA champions took the lead in the first quarter and survived a lull in the fourth quarter. Curry shot 14-of-24 from the floor and hit four three-pointers, guiding the offense in the absence of Kevin Durant, who sat out due to a sprained left ankle.
Playing without Durant, they led by 28 in the third quarter but Brooklyn cut it all the way to four after Curry picked up his sixth foul with three minutes remaining. “You like to see those guys out there,” Draymond Green said of Durant and Curry. “But obviously we have other guys that can step up.”
According to the synopsis for Season 2, episode 7 of the Fox series, Pippen guest-stars as Trish’s (Keesha Sharp) new friend, with whom she’s been working on a charity event. Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) is initially suspicious of his wife’s mystery friend but his suspicions turn into excitement when he finds out that Trish’s new buddy is none other than the NBA champion.
Pippen is not new to appearing on TV series. The basketball player made his TV acting debut in a 1996 episode of NBC’s “ER.” He has also guest-starred on ABC’s “Fresh Off The Boat” in 2015 and on NBC’s “Chicago Fire” in the same year. On the film side, Pippen appeared in 1996’s “Space Jam” and in the Chinese sci-fi movie “Amazing.”
