Valencia are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
Fellaini is a favourite of United boss Jose Mourinho. But the Belgian will be out of contract at the end of the season, and it is understood that talks over a fresh deal are yet to begin.
Besiktas have been linked with a move for the 29-year-old. But according to The Sun, Valencia are very much in the race.
The La Liga outfit keen to tie Fellaini to a pre-contract during the January transfer window.
Fellaini has scored four times in nine appearances for the Red Devils this season.
4. Liverpool favourites to re-sign Javier Mascherano
Liverpool have emerged as favourites to re-sign Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano.
Reports surfaced last week suggested that the Reds were interested in handing Mascherano the chance to return to Anfield. The Argentina international has so far lost his place in the Barcelona starting lineup under Ernesto Valverde.
The 33-year-old’s current deal at the Camp Nou does not expire until 2019. But Barca are understood to be willing to allow him to leave on a free transfer in order to ease their wage bill.
The Argentine reportedly initially rejected a move to Liverpool. But Jurgen Klopp’s side have now been made favourites to sign him with a deal seemingly back on the table.
The Merseyside outfit could face competition from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus; while Mascherano has also been linked with a return to River Plate, where he began his career.
Mascherano made 139 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions from 2007 to 2010 before joining Barcelona.
3. Cristiano Ronaldo decides to leave Real Madrid
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has turned down a new contract at the club after deciding to leave next summer, according to reports.
The 32-year-old is Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer having netted 414 goals in just 407 appearances for the club since arriving from Manchester United for £80m in 2009.
Reports during the recent summer transfer window claimed that Ronaldo was considering leaving the Spanish and European champions. But the Portugal international eventually opted to stay at the Bernabeu.
However, Spanish TV show El Chiringuito de Jugones now reports that the forward has informed club president Florentino Perez that he wants to quit next summer.
Real Madrid are understood to be determined to keep the four-time Ballon d’Or winner. However, Ronaldo, earlier this month insisted that he did not want to sign a new deal.
Ronaldo, whose contract expires in 2021, is reportedly unhappy with Madrid’s failed pursuit of Kylian Mbappe during the summer.
2. Manchester United keeping tabs on Argentine left-back Enzo Diaz
Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Argentine left-back Enzo Diaz as they search for a long-term solution to a problem area.
Diaz currently plays for Argentine second division leaders Agropecuario and has caught the eye of a number of European clubs.
United have struggled to find a regular solution at left-back under Jose Mourinho. Meanwhile, Matteo Darmian, Daley Blind, Luke Shaw and most recently Ashley Young occupying the position.
However, the Daily Mail reports that Mourinho has identified 21-year-old Diaz as a potential transfer target to solve the problem.
Speaking of the interest, Diaz told Ataque Futbolero: “I found out about it on Saturday morning, but later I did not talk to anyone other than my agent.”
“My agent told me that they were delighted and they were going to see me a couple more games. It is the dream of any footballer [to play for Manchester United].”
1. Barcelona holding secret talks with Antoine Griezmann
Barcelona have reportedly been in talks with Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann for a number of weeks ahead of a possible move at the end of the season.
Griezmann was heavily linked with a switch to Manchester United during the summer. The Frenchman was thought to be on the verge of joining United until Atletico were handed a transfer ban.
That embargo expires in January when Atletico will welcome Diego Costa into their squad amongst others, although any deal for Griezmann is expected to wait until the summer.
French website Le10sport claims that Barcelona are now frontrunners in the race for his signature. And the Catalans have held secret talks with the France international in recent weeks.
Discussions are now understood to be at a very advanced stage, with both parties close to agreeing a deal. Although Barca must still negotiate an agreement with Atletico too.
Griezmann is understood to favour a move to Barcelona over United as it will enable him to stay in Spain.
