3. ‘I almost joined Manchester United’- Rivaldo
Brazilian legend and Ballon d’Or winner Rivaldo has revealed for the first time that he almost joined Manchester United. This happened in 2002 when he was about to join AC Milan after five successful years at Camp Nou. He helped the La Liga side lift 2 La Liga titles and Copa del Rey.
“Well, there was a lot of talks when I was in Barcelona that the club was thinking of transferring me to England but I never had the opportunity,” Rivaldo told Betsafe Star Sixes.
“In all the newspapers in Barcelona there were rumors that a few agents were speaking to mine, I don’t know how true this is but the press said Manchester was interested; I don’t know how true this was but it was in the papers.”
He went on to join the Serie A giant where he won Champions League in 2002/03. He was also on the team that lifted the World Cup trophy in 2002 in Japan and Korea.
2. Ronaldo REJECT Madrid offer, he wants to LEAVE on a “reasonable price”
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has asked his club to let him leave on June 30 in 2018 for a “reasonable price”. The four times World player of the year was reportedly offered a new deal to improve his terms after the defeat to Tottenham Hotspurs. However, he termed the offer a disrespect and further asked President Florentino Perez to let him leave the club.
The revelation has been made by El Chiringuito TV Spanish journalist Edu Aguirre. He continues to say via The Sun newspaper that the President turned down his request to leave and this has made it worse. The relationship between the star and the club is very poor at the moment. The Portuguese believe the club don’t value him as compared to Messi and Neymar at Barcelona and PSG respectively.
1. Messi REVEAL his next Club after Barcelona
Lionel Messi wants to return to his childhood club Newell’s Old Boys at some point in future. The 30-year-old forward left the Argentine club at the age of 13 years to join Barcelona. He says his dream was to play for the hometown club and he wants to fulfill his dream one day.
The five times World player of the year has sent shivers down the spines of Camp Nou management. He is yet to sign a new contract despite the fact that his current contract expires at the end of the season. The Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu insists the deal is done but the player has not signed it.
“The desire is always playing for Newell’s, it is what I dreamed as a kid,” Messi told TyC Sports.
“When I went to the club I imagined playing in the Primera Division, but I do not know what’s going to happen in a few years.
“I cannot say I’m going back because I do not know where I’m going to be.”
There are reports that the attacker wants to join his former boss Pep Guardiola at Manchester City next summer.
