Steven Gerrard’s cousin being tracked by Arsenal; while the Gunners consider Algeria international winger swoop. Chris Coleman confirms Arsenal midfielder is fit to face Tottenham Hotspur despite being withdrawn from the national squad.
4. Steven Gerrard’s cousin being tracked by Arsenal
Manchester City starlet Bobby Duncan, the teenage cousin of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, is reportedly on the radar of Premier League rivals Arsenal.
The 16-year-old striker plies his trade for the Citizens’ age-grade sides; while also producing standout displays for England at Under-17s level.
Duncan scored the Young Lions’ winner against Portugal earlier this week and was then promoted to the Under-20s side to take part in training.
According to The Sun, the youngster’s performances have not gone unnoticed as several top-flight sides are now after his signature.
Arsenal are said to have showed the most interest in Duncan, though, and are tempted to make City an offer in an attempt to lure him away next year.
3. Arsenal consider Yacine Brahimi swoop
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Porto winger Yacine Brahimi as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez’s contract at the Emirates Stadium will expire next summer, and it appears almost certain that the Chilean will leave the Gunners either in January or at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
Mesut Ozil is also in a similar situation at the club, and it is thought that the German will also look to move on.
As a result, Arsenal are already considering replacements for the key duo, with A Bola claiming that head coach Arsene Wenger has identified Brahimi as the perfect player to boost his attack.
Brahimi, 27, joined Porto from Granada in 2014 and has scored 32 times in 134 appearances for the Portuguese club.
This season, the Algerian international has managed four goals and three assists in 11 Liga NOS fixtures.
2. Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey fit to face Spurs – Chris Coleman
Wales boss Chris Coleman has revealed that Aaron Ramsey was only withdrawn from the squad to face Panama on Tuesday as a precaution.
Ramsey played 90 minutes as the Dragons suffered a 2-0 defeat against France in Paris. But the Arsenal star has since pulled out of the group ahead of the game in Cardiff.
However, Coleman has claimed that Ramsey will be fit to represent the Gunners when they host Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The 47-year-old told reporters: “Coming into the camp, we knew that we were only going to have him for France. No matter how we felt afterwards, we decided that it would be one game.”
“He’s gone back, he’s okay, He came through the game okay. Coming into the camp, with what has been happening with him at Arsenal in terms of his fitness, we thought that one game would be better than two. He will be available for the weekend.”
Ramsey has scored three goals in 10 Premier League appearances for the North Londoners this season.
1. Arsenal closing in on £60m Nabil Fekir deal
Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a club-record deal to sign Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir for £60m.
The Gunners have been increasingly linked with the 24-year-old in recent months as they consider possible replacements for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Both Sanchez and Ozil are out of contract at the end of the season. And Arsenal could allow both Sanchez and Ozil to leave in order to avoid losing them on free transfers during the summer.
The Daily Star reports that the North Londoners are now in advanced talks with Lyon.
The Kids also provided Arsenal’s current most expensive player during the summer when Alexandre Lacazette moved to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsene Wenger is now willing to surpass that £52m deal for Fekir. The move is potentially being funded by the £30m departures of Sanchez and Ozil.
