Game 10- Premier League Team of the Week- Hazard leads

Premier League match-day 10 is done and dusted. Manchester City continues to terrorize other clubs in the championship. This weekend they demolished West Brom 3-2 to stay five points clear at the top. Manchester United managed a narrow 1-0 win against title rivals Tottenham Hotspurs. The three clubs remain in the top three positions ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal who take 4th and 5th place. Let us take a look at eleven players who make the Premier League team of the week.

System: 4-4-2

Joe Hart- Manchester City

West Ham United goalkeeper Joe Hart had a weekend to remember. The England number one shot-stopper has struggled so far this season. The pundits were starting to ask why the Hammers decided to take him on loan.

However, the clash against Crystal Palace produced the best out of him. The visitors were 2-0 up in the first half but the Eagles were not ready to go down without a fight. They crawled back in the game thanks to Wilfred Zaha who is currently on fire. Hart could not stop two-goal but he made seven saves to earn his side a valuable point away from home.

Cesar Azpilicueta- Chelsea

Cesar Azpilicueta netted the winner last week when Chelsea came from behind to beat Watford 4-2 at Stamford Bridge. He is one of those players that always give his best for the team but get very little praise. This weekend, he made a very important block against Callum Wilson. The shot was going straight to the net. The Blues won by only one goal which clearly shows how important that block was.

Ryan Shawcross- Stoke City

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes needed a result from somewhere. The pressure was starting to mount on him after a terrible run. He has spent a lot of money in recent years signing big players who continue to underperform.

This weekend, he finally dug deep to get a result against a very good Watford side. The man who did all the dirty work is Ryan Shawcross. The England defender made five blocks, the best return all weekend.

Antonio Rudiger- Chelsea

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger had a good day in office against a very tough Bournemouth side. He made sure nothing went passed him all evening. The German is finally feeling at home in London after a difficult period in Serie A with AS Roma.

Ashley Young- Manchester United

Manchester United managed to finally beat a top-four side a poor show against Liverpool at Anfield earlier this month. The Red Devils thrashed Tottenham 1-0 at Old Trafford to collect all three points. The win also ensures they stay closer to League leaders Manchester City who are five points clear.

Ashley Young continue to surprise everybody with his great performances in defense despite the fact that he is a winger. Last weekend he made it sure that nobody got a chance from his side. He played as a wingback to provide the much-needed width going forward.

Fernandinho- Manchester City

The likes of Fernandinho rarely get the recognition they deserve because the forward players steal all the limelight. When you are laying alongside Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, and Sergio Aguero, it is obvious that they will get the praise many times ahead of you.

However, this weekend, Fernandinho was the standout performer in a 3-2 win against West Brom. He scored a goal and assisted another one to give Pep Guardiola a perfect record in Premier League so far.

Demarai Gray- Leicester City

Leicester City welcomed new boss Claude Puel with a well deserved 2-0 win against Everton at home. The former Southampton Coach officially takes over from Craig Shakespeare who was sacked a fortnight ago. The man of the match has to be 21-year-old Demarai Gray. He created the first goal through a crazy counter attack. He was given the second goal despite the fact that it was directed into the net by the Toffees full back.

Aaron Ramsey- Arsenal

Swansea City threatened to take all three points at Emirates once again on Saturday. They scored early to pile more pressure on Arsene Wenger and his players in front of a capacity crowd at home. The good news is that Aaron Ramsey was on fire. He scored the winner and also made some great tackles to ensure the Gunners collect all three points.

Eden Hazard- Chelsea

Eden Hazard is back. The Belgian playmaker is back to his best and he is not sparing anybody. This weekend, the Chelsea story was written all over his face. He netted the match-winner against Bournemouth. He also created seven chances for his teammates. Jose Mourinho must stop him if he plans to get three points next week when the two giants clash at Stamford Bridge.

Anthony Martial- Manchester United

Manchester United needed to beat Tottenham Hotspurs to stop a narrative that was starting to gain prominence in the media. Since the 0-0 draw against Liverpool, Jose Mourinho has been criticized for refusing to allow his players to enjoy themselves on the pitch. The Red Devils were defensive and poor at Anfield.

Last weekend, the story was not the same against Kane-less Tottenham Hotspurs. The ‘Special One’ needed a result to keep Manchester City closer. Anthony Martial came off the bench to score the match decider. He scored to help his team get all three points against a big team. He deserves to lead this list.

Andre Ayew- West Ham

West Ham United was leading by 2-0 at halftime. The Hammers needed a win after a poor show against Brighton at home last weekend where they lost 3-0. They started well and Roy Hodgson men were shocked when they found themselves trailing the visitors by two goals.

The man who did all the damage is, of course, Andre Ayew. The Ghanaian netted a double to help eliminate Tottenham Hotspurs from the League Cup in mid-week. He netted again to put his side in the driving seat. At the end, they got a draw which is a fair result away from home.
