5. Jack Wilshere wanted by Newcastle United

Newcastle United are determined to land Arsenal outcast Jack Wilshere in the current transfer window, according to the Sun.

The midfielder was left out of the squad for the Gunners’ 4-3 win over Leicester City on Friday. But the England international himself insists he was fit to play.

And with Wilshere resigned to leaving the Emirates Stadium Newcastle are set to pounce, in a move that will calm Rafa Benitez’s nerves after a quiet window so far.

The position of Jack Wilshere is unclear. The club aren’t actively seeking a buyer. But even when he gets fit he looks to be well behind in the midfield pecking order.

4. Arsenal unlikely to sign AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar

Arsenal have all but given up on signing Thomas Lemar from Monaco and are unlikely to make further additions this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners are confident of keeping Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez; however, with the Chilean expected to join Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester City on a free next summer.

Instead, all energy will be focused on reducing the wage bill with a string of names available to leave.

3. Claudio Ranieri wants Arsenal youngster

Arsenal teen Jeff Reine-Adelaide is reportedly being lined up for a season-long loan at Ligue 1 side Nantes.

While highly rated at the Emirates, Reine-Adelaide is not part of Arsene Wenger’s plans for the new campaign.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is said to be keen to send the 19-year-old midfielder out on loan to gain experience.

Nice have also been linked with Reine-Adelaide. But according to L’Equipe, former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri’s Nantes are the favorites to secure his signature.

The midfielder made six first-team appearances for the London club last term across the EFL Cup and FA Cup. The last of those games came in February and he was excluded from the team’s pre-season preparations due to injury.

Reine-Adelaide is contracted at the Emirates until 2019.
