Manchester United are prepared to offer £175million and David De Gea in order to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.
According to The Mirror, United are ready to break the bank for the Portuguese star; who is unsettled at Real Madrid due to an ongoing investigation into alleged tax evasion.
De Gea has been a long-term target of Los Blancos, and only saw a move to the Bernabeu fall through in 2015 due to a faulty fax machine.
The Sun report that Ronaldo has told his agent to seal a move back to United.
4. Former United coach takes charge of Man City sister club
Former Manchester United reserves coach Warren Joyce named new boss of Manchester City’s sister club Melbourne City.
Joyce, 52, had four months in charge of Wigan Athletic in the Championship last season; after eight years overseeing the United second string.
The former Bolton, Preston and Burnley midfielder has also had a spell as player-manager at Hull; and held coaching roles at Leeds and Antwerp.
His latest move sees him take charge of Manchester City’s sister club in Australia’s A-League.
Joyce said: “I am delighted to be joining Melbourne City Football Club at this time in its evolution.”
“The people at the club, their vision and their values, together with the opportunity to help develop; and build this team to its full potential, meant that this was an offer which was impossible to turn down.”
3. Roma eyeing Matteo Darmian
Roma will reportedly attempt to sign Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian in this summer’s transfer window.
The 27-year-old joined Man United from Torino in the summer of 2015; and made 39 appearances during his first season at the club.
The defender has been consistently linked with a return to Italian football, however; and according to Corrierre dello Sport, Roma will attempt to entice Darmian back to Serie A with an offer this summer.
Darmian signed a four-year deal at Man United upon his arrival in July 2015.
2. Ronaldo told Man United legend he wanted to quit Real Madrid six weeks ago
Cristiano Ronaldo told Sir Alex Ferguson six weeks ago that he wanted to quit Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is claiming that Ronaldo told Ferguson about his desire to leave The Bernabeu weeks; before the tax allegations made against him by Spanish authorities became public.
The same report claims that Ronaldo spoke to his former manager at a function more than a month ago; and the 32-year-old informed him of his desire to quit the Spanish club.
Ferguson was in charge of Manchester United back in 2009 when the Portugal captain was sold to Real Madrid in a then-world record transfer deal.

However, now L’Equipe claims that Paris Saint-Germain are also prepared for the race.
