Top 5 Iconic Athletes Who Gained A TON Of Weight After Retirement

In their pomp, they performed in front of packed stadiums and an adoring crowd, earning thousands of pounds a week; and now they are seemingly gaining pounds of weight a week. These Legends’ career was considered the pinnacle of a career so many children dream of. Despite the large number of sportsmen they would inspire, their bodies today are horrible. Down is some of those Iconic Athletes.

5. Mike Tyson (Retired -2005)

Back in 2006 after retiring, according to a police probable-cause statement, filed in Maricopa County Superior Court, “[Tyson] admitted to using [drugs] today and stated he is an addict and has a problem.” In November 2007 was convicted to possession of cocaine and driving under the influence.

This is horrible for a ring king.

4. Arnold Schwarzenegger (Retired -1980)

The 38th Governor of California is a former professional bodybuilder; began weight training at the age of 15. He won the Mr. Universe title at age 20 and went on to win the Mr. Olympia contest seven times. Those who may only know him in movies, remember as well his incredible body.

However, the end is ridiculous.

3. Ronaldo Nazario (Retired -2011)

He’s not even the most famous Ronaldo anymore; just an iconic and one of the highest World Cup goal scorers of all time. A three-time FIFA World Player of the Year and two-time Ballon d’Or recipient, Ronaldo had glory in his 1990s prime.

However, it is hard to believe your eyes when staring at the ridiculous body of this icon.

2. Magic Johnson (Retired -1996)

This is a retired basket baller and current president of basketball operations of the Los Angeles Lakers. Johnson retired abruptly in 1991 after announcing that he had contracted HIV; but returned to play in the 1992 All-Star Game, winning the All-Star MVP Award. He returned in 1996, at age 36, to play 32 games for the Lakers before retiring for the third and final time.

The 57 may have an excuse; I guess this would happen to anyone owning 30 Burger King Restaurants.

1. Diego Maradona (Retired -1997)

There have been few footballers in the history of soccer that had what Maradona had; his gift to carry an entire team on his shoulders. The guy was dominating the game.

Upon his retirement at age 37, Maradona’s weight started to increase rapidly due to all the abuse that his body took during his love affair with drugs. However, it’s remarkable that the man is still standing on his two feet after all that he went through.
