5. Granit Xhaka hopes Arsenal star will resists Bayern Munich

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is keen for Alexis Sanchez to stay at the club; but understands that he is good enough to play in every world team.

The Chile international has been heavily linked to Bayern Munich; as the Bavarians are believed to be willing to match the £300,000-a-week wages offered by Arsenal.

Sanchez’s future has been uncertain since the start of last season when he failed to agree a new contract at the North London outfit.

“I hope [he doesn’t leave], of course,” The Mirror quotes Xhaka as saying. “He has qualities on the pitch which are incomprehensible. He has made many goals, and is also enormously important outside.”

“Alexis can play with every world team, just like Mesut Ozil. I have been able to play with many great players, but these two stick out.”

Sanchez scored 30 goals and registered 13 assists in all competitions for the Gunners last season.

4. Arsenal to use Olivier Giroud in Kylian Mbappe deal

Arsenal have reportedly decided that they are willing to use Olivier Giroud as a makeweight in any deal for AS Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe.

It has previously been reported that the Gunners are prepared to break the world transfer record in order to sign the 18-year-old; although Monaco remain intent on keeping the teenager in Monte Carlo.

However, according to the London Evening Standard, manager Arsene Wenger is prepared to include Giroud if it means getting a deal over the line.

3. Arsenal fail in bid for Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado

Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal.

Last month, it was revealed that Juventus had triggered a clause in their loan arrangement with Chelsea; where they could sign the 29-year-old on a permanent deal.

However, according to The Sun, the Serie A champions have had to fend off an offer from Arsenal for the left-sided player.

It has been claimed that the Gunners made a bid of £17.6m, a similar fee to which Juventus paid Chelsea for his signature; but it was rejected by the Italian giants.

2. Alexis Sanchez’s future at Arsenal is now doubtful

Alexis Sanchez has his heart set on a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City this summer, according to reports in the British media.

According to M.E.N, Manchester City have made Sanchez one of their top attacking targets this summer; as Guardiola prepares for his second season in charge at The Etihad.

However, the report goes on to state that the Citizens face a struggle in convincing Arsenal to sell their prized asset to a direct rival this summer.

The story also claims that Manchester City are remaining confident that they can secure a £50m deal for Sanchez this summer.

Arsenal could still keep hold of Sanchez for another year; but could then risk seeing him leave the club for free next summer.

1. Arsenal and Tottenham favourites to sign Real Madrid midfielder

Both Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham are willing to break the bank to land their main midfield target.

Premier League giants are reportedly locked in a race to sign Real Madrid’s Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic. Although the Croatian has made more than 30 appearances for Los Blancos this season, Kovacic has not established himself in the first team.

According to reports in Spain (Diario Gol), the North London sides are now keen on making a move for the talented Croatian.

The local rivals are also ready to promise the 23-year-old regular playing time at their respective clubs.

However, Madrid will only sell Kovacic if they manage to sign a quality midfielder in the summer transfer window; as they see Kovacic as a long-term successor to Luka Modric.
