LeBron James is making history in the NBA. This comes after the Cleveland Cavaliers have knocked down the Boston Celtics to take the Eastern Conference throne.
“He’s a mixture of Michael [Jordan], Shaq and Magic [Johnson],” O’Neal said
The NBA legend, Shaquille O’Neal, said that The King James is a mixture of three biggest names in the sport’s history.
“He’s a mixture of Michael, Shaq, and Magic” O’Neal told the cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon. “Shaq, because he’s bigger and stronger than everybody. Michael because he can score whenever he feels like it. And Magic because he does a great job getting everybody else involved. He’s been like that his whole career. Even in high school. I knew he was a special guy in high school” He added.
According to ESPN.com’s greatest players ever, LeBron is the third overall, behind Jordan and Kareem Abdull-Jabbar, and one place ahead Magic Johnson. LeBron continues to burnish his legacy even after 14 years in the league. At 32, he remains the most talented player on the planet. And he just surpassed Jordan for most career playoff points, to become all-time playoff scoring leader.
“I’ve only met two people like him,” O’Neal continued. “Him and Kobe. Guys that were super determined ever since high school and accomplished all their dreams, and just wanted to be realized and recognized as one of the greatest and both had extraordinary careers.”
James is dominant now for sure. The man’s been to seven consecutive NBA Finals and has a chance to win a fourth championship against a loaded Golden State Warriors team in June. He’s delivered a ring to both the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers. As the saying goes, “real recognizes real.” And to Shaq, LeBron’s looking real familiar right now.
