Antonio Conte talks Diego Costa celebration: This is why my Chelsea staff are in danger

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has become renowned for his enthusiastic celebrations on the touchline at Stamford Bridge. And the Italian boss was at it again when striker Diego Costa provided the perfect response to talk of his bust-up with the Italian last week.

An £80million move to China has been tabled for the 28-year-old, but Chelsea have made it clear they will not sell. And Costa gave his own thoughts on the saga, having clashed with Conte at Cobham training ground.

The Chelsea star returned to the first XI against Hull in their 2-0 win, netting the opener late in the first half on Sunday evening.

Costa’s gesture was an insinuation of too much chat as he wielded away, but Conte insisted he is happy to see his team celebrate in whatever manner.

Conte said: “Honestly, I didn’t see it because I was celebrating on the bench. Sometimes when we score its very dangerous for my staff.

“It’s important to score a goal and celebrate in any way, Diego played a good game and I hope with his performance he finished the speculation about him.”

Following the victory at Hull and Costa’s contribution in the clash, a January exit appears well and truly off the cards.

Chelsea now lead the Premier League table by eight points to second-placed Arsenal after a near-perfect weekend for Conte’s side.
